Alumni Board CLE: Trial Tactics and Persuasion

The Hamline Law Alumni Board is pleased to announce its first continuing legal education program of the 2013-14 academic year. The Alumni Board will once again host CLE programs on the second Tuesday of each month.

Hamline Law alumnus JD Haas (JD ’84), of JD Haas and Associates, will kick off the Hamline Law Alumni Board’s Fall 2013 CLE schedule on September 10, presenting “Trial Tactics and Persuasion.” This CLE presentation will focus on over-arching principles of trial advocacy, illustrated by stories from jury trials. How do you establish rapport with a jury? What is a jury looking for? How can a lawyer be persuasive?

The presentation will be available in person or via live webcast. Online registration will be available at everywhere.hamline.edu.

Since 1991, Haas has been recognized as a “Nationally Board Certified Trial Lawyer” by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Focusing his practice on representing plaintiffs in injury and wrongful death cases, Haas has tried 46 cases to juries all over the U.S. and has negotiated settlements in thousands of other cases. As a member of the Hamline Law Alumni Board, Haas aims to reach out through HUSLink to new alums in solo practice to help them succeed in court.
