Getting Ready: Financial and Legal Planning for Same-Sex Couples

Minnesota’s freedom to marry law goes into effect on August 1, 2013. There are at least 515 Minnesota laws that bestow rights, benefits, and responsibilities based on marriage. Many of these laws deal with financial and legal issues, so it’s important for same-sex couples to understand these issues as they plan for their future. “Getting Ready” will feature a panel discussion with financial and legal experts plus resource and information tables on these and other topics.

Paid parking ($1.50/hr) is available at the Anderson Center (underground parking). Street parking and free parking on campus surface lots are also available.

Agenda
6 p.m. -- Resource and information tables open
6:30 p.m. -- Panel discussion starts
7:30 p.m. -- Panel discussion ends and resource and information tables open
8 p.m. -- Event ends
